The Senior Engineer - Automation is a key technical expert in our highly automated food manufacturing facility. You will have a high degree of autonomy and be relied upon to provide informal leadership to contractors, production, maintenance, technicians, and project teams. As a system owner/expert for automation, process control, MES, digitalization, and/or electrical/power distribution, you will be a key resource in help creating a strategic vision for the future of the site. Factory Electrical & Automation Engineering maintains the existing electrical and automation infrastructure and applications.
Responsibilities:
- Operations Support
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting of existing electrical and automation systems (PLCs, VFDs, MMI, Service Panels & MCCs, sensors/instruments, valves/motors, Wonderware System Platform – including VMs and thin clients, Manufacturing Execution System/MES, industrial Ethernet networks, control panels, circuit breakers, etc.)
- Complete incident investigations for downtime and quality deviations to determine root cause and propose or implement corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain accuracy and content of the electrical system key documentation , Automation & Process Controls
- Conduct preventive maintenance on power distribution and automation equipment
- Ensure power quality
- Keep electrical power distribution and automation drawings and documentation updated
- Manage the instrument calibration program for regulatory and quality compliance
- Perform troubleshooting in case of problems and ensure the PLC or HMI applications are properly managed
- Modify the automation applications when operational changes are performed on the production lines
- Manage industrial applications and hardware in the automation layer
- Automation equipment change management policy/procedures
- Maintain the reliability and the performance of the Factory Automation System (FAS) IT infrastructure and peer to peer networks
- In line with Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE), active participation in regular operational reviews, continuous improvement and DMAIC activities
- Meet compliance with all Nestle and local regulatory standards and requirements in collaboration with Group E&A teams, local authorities all times
- Manage Electricity and Automation equipment standardization for plant
- Build internal capabilities providing coaching/training to mechanics and operators on the shop floor
- System Maintenance
- Ensure existing electrical and automation systems are properly maintained
- Analyze the current E&A systems and install base to ensure continued maintainability and support; develop roadmap or masterplan where necessary
- Project Management & Execution:
- Conduct estimation, and execution of medium to large scale electrical/automation projects
- Develop and implement project descriptions, plans, timelines, resource requirements, costs, etc.
- Interface with vendors, develop bid specifications, participate in design reviews, and factory acceptance testing
- Oversee installations and verify compliance with NFPA, OSHA and Nestle standards.
- Strategy & Mentorship:
- Share expertise and provide training to build the competencies of fellow E&A team members
- Develop E&A team strategy (prioritization, planning, roadmaps, etc.)

Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree that relates to controls, automation, electrical power, computer science, and/or electro mechanical fiel
