Temporary- General Labor (04)

This position is intended for a Junior level or higher student who is majoring in an Agricultural related major. This position will report directly to the Grower Relations Supervisor and will assist the Field Representatives with pre-harvest field inspections, raw product sampling, yield estimates, food safety inspections and other duties as assigned. 

1. Taking raw product samples from production garlic/ onion field for pesticide residues. 
2. Taking raw product samples from production garlic / onion fields for heavy metals. 
3. Sampling garlic / onions for food safety and other quality evaluations. 
4. Yield estimates in garlic and onion fields
5. Occasional supervision of harvest labor for intensive field sampling procedures.
6. Assisting Grower relations Superintendent with reviewing and updating SNI Field Department Food Safety Plan. 
7. Keep good hand written records
8. Position may require regular overnight trips to remote harvest locations 

Secondary responsibilities:

1. May be temporarily assigned to harvest operations for special projects. 
2. May also occasionally assist in seed production operations.

 

Vehicle is provided and expenses are paid. Working conditions are performed outside subject to the elements.  Extensive travel driving within California approximately 15,000 miles during season is entailed.  Extensive over-night travel will be required during harvest usually on a 6 days– on and 1 day – off schedule.

These ingredients are used in many of today's popular convenience foods. The Natural Ingredients unit is located in Turlock, California. 

The hourly wage for this position is $19.50 USD.  Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.  In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families.  This position is also eligible for performance-based incentive pay.

RELOCATION: We are unable to offer relocation assistance. The successful candidate will be expected to work in the area or be willing to commute.
