Description

JOB SUMMARY

A Systems Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting the computer systems, networks, and infrastructure of the organization.  They ensure the smooth operation of the IT environment, provide level 3, and higher, support to end users, and implement security measures to protect systems and data.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

System Administration and Maintenance: 40%

  • Regularly monitor and maintain the health and performance of systems and infrastructure.
  • Identify and resolve issues, troubleshoot problems, and provide technical support (level 2 and level 3) to associates.
  • Utilize Azure and its core tools like InTune, others, to apply patches, updates, and push security fixes to systems ensuring they are up to date.

System Configuration and Deployment: 30%

  • Assist associates, Install, configure and deploy hardware and software systems, including servers, workstations, operating systems, and applications.
  • Set up network infrastructure, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Configure and manage associate accounts, permissions, and access controls.

System Planning and Strategy: 20%

  • Participate in the strategic planning of IT systems, infrastructure, and technology roadmap.
  • Evaluate new technologies, tools, and solutions for potential implementation. Providing recommendations on system upgrades, enhancements, and capacity planning.

Project Management: 5%

  • As a Systems Administrator, you may be responsible for overseeing and managing IT projects within Outcomes. This can include planning, coordinating, and executing projects related to system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTS

  • Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 and Azure services, including Intune, Autopilot, Automation, and related tools, with working knowledge of other cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Knowledge with TCP/IP protocols and principles
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects appropriately
  • Analytical, conceptual and progressive thinker; organized planner, independent problem-solving
  • Familiarity with cloud based telephone system concepts and administration
  • Active Directory and DNS administration, Windows Server Operating Systems, Linux Server OS
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Knowledge of attack vectors (malware, web application, social engineering, etc.)
  • Investigating compromised systems, malware, rootkits, packet captures, and security incidents
  • Experience with patch management, Antivirus and Malware management
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Microsoft/Network certifications, although not necessary, are a plus
  • This position requires direct interaction with associates

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum years of work experience: 3 years
  • Minimum level of education or education/experience: Bachelors or equivalent work experience
  • BS in Information Systems, Computer Science and/or other combination of education, training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the required tasks
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in administering cloud infrastructure environments such as Microsoft Azure (including tools like Intune, Autopilot, Automation), AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or similar platforms.
  • Administration experience with VMwar
