About the role

The Director of Staffing, a senior leadership position, is a pivotal role, connecting delivery project (external demand) and resource practice (internal supply) leadership by efficiently aligning staffing needs with resource availability. Through adept triaging and application of strategic insights, the Director of Staffing manages a dedicated team to optimize resource utilization, inform prioritization of constrained resources, highlight opportunities for cross-training, and support hiring strategies, all of which is vital to both project success and practice growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead by orchestrating the strategic assignment of skilled employees to projects while considering experience, availability, and resource shortages.
  • Oversee the entire staffing function by establishing and maintaining processes to align project demands with available resources at a strategic level.
  • Lead Workforce Capacity Planning by analyzing staffing trends, skill gaps, and project requirements to offer strategic insights on workforce planning, prioritization, and hiring decisions to senior management.
  • Act as the business owner for internal Resource Management information system (Scout) by overseeing the system and metadata within it and ensuring its effective utilization for resource management and strategic decision-making.

Supportive Responsibilities 

  • Contribute to holistic talent acquisition strategy centered on tracking metrics that reveal staffing needs and skill gaps.
  • Support practice and talent development leadership teams in identification of skill gaps as an input to training plans.
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration by actively engaging with project managers, practice leaders, HR teams, and other stakeholders.

Management Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain clear roles and responsibilities within the staffing team while collaborating closely with HR to facilitate effective recruitment, ensuring the right talents are identified and onboarded to support team objectives and to scale the staffing function with Credera’s growth.
  • Provide Executive Oversight through senior-level leadership and mentorship to a staffing team, ensuring effective coordination of staffing requests and resource management.
  • Cultivate team growth by providing ongoing development opportunities, personalized mentoring, and guidance, fostering skill enhancement and career progression among team members. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge & Skills

  • High attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize based on business demand/need
  • Strong understanding (or experience) of consulting business model and operations
  • Experience working in a staffing or resource management team for a mid-sized or larger professional services firm is a plus
  • Operational experience in a rapidly growing organization is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to “manage up” and coach others
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8-12 years of professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Consistent use of hands and fingers to operate a mouse and keyboard
  • Occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, stoop and kneel
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
