About the role

Description

GI for Kids is seeking a full-time Ultrasound Technologist to join our Knoxville-based team. This role includes Thursday travel to our Cleveland or Morristown satellite offices, with a company vehicle provided. The position supports a collaborative team within a large, privately owned specialty practice.


Job Type: Full-Time

Hours: Tuesday-Friday 7AM- 4PM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include any and or all of the following: Other duties may be assigned as appropriate.

  • Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct examinations.
  • Performs a variety of technical tasks involved in operating sonography equipment as specified by provider order.
  • Instructs/communicates with patient and patient family regarding the test to be performed and answers questions.
  • Assume responsibility for the safety of the patient during the sonography examinations.
  • Maintain sonography supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs and placing orders.
  • Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information.
  • Ensure that the sonography examination order is complete.
  • Evaluate any contraindications, insufficient patient preparation, and the patient’s inability or unwillingness to tolerate the examination or test and associated procedures.
  • Apply independent, professional, ethical judgment, and critical thinking to safely perform diagnostic sonography tests.
  • Apply independent judgment during the sonography examinations tests to ensure that appropriate anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions are accurately captured in the examination images.
  • Identify and document any limitations to the sonography examinations tests.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA) and facility policies, and procedures.
  • Adhere to accepted professional and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited Sonography program
  • National Certification
  • ARDMS registered/eligible
  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills and software programs used for documentation activities and report generation.
