We are seeking a mission-driven, growth-oriented Energy Market Development Associate to help expand OhmConnect’s suite of energy management services to new markets across North America.

Role Summary

OhmConnect is looking for a strong operational team member with commitment to advancing the clean energy transition by helping expand flexible energy resources to new markets across North America for long-term success.


What You Will Do

  • Market Registration: Manage the market registration of corporate entities and flexible energy resources to deliver against energy positions within ISO/RTO operations and/or capacity agreements with load serving entities.
  • Regulatory Requirements: Identify and understand applicable rules and regulations, policies, and technical design associated with initial market operations and enrollment of flexible energy resources into energy and capacity market programs in new markets.
  • Data Access: Collaborate with industry stakeholders and the company’s policy team to ensure OhmConnect has ongoing access to the necessary data streams (e.g, customer interval data or day-ahead/real-time wholesale pricing) to participate in ISO/RTO energy markets and capacity market programs.
  • Revenue Strategy: Develop and implement initial revenue pathway, including auction participation strategies, utility program strategies, and market bidding strategies to optimize revenue and competitiveness in new markets. Monitor and evaluate past auction results to drive auction and market modeling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree in relevant area preferred
  • 2+ years of related work experience, ideally in the clean energy industry
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO/RTO and utility-tariffed operations and energy market design
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail and deadlines, and ability to navigate internal and external stakeholder teams and build working relationships
  • Strong analytical skills, and demonstrated ability to turn detailed data analysis into useful strategic insight and actionable recommendations to the business.
  • Results-oriented with strong problem-solving, execution, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable cutting red tape and rolling up sleeves to achieve goals
  • Ability to handle matters of a sensitive and confidential nature
