The Nursing Instructor position is primarily based on the WNC Carson City campus.

The position is subject to a 90 day notice if primary location is changed to additional WNC campus locations. This recruitment will be filling multiple open positions within the Nursing department within the college.

Academic Faculty Contract, 171-day, Benefits Eligible.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Assume a leadership role in the delivery of the medical/surgical nursing curriculum in the classroom, laboratory and clinical environments 

• Collaborate with other nursing faculty in the instruction of medical/surgical and other related nursing content 

• Prepare and present lecture/discussion and laboratory learning experiences which incorporate active and alternative teaching methodologies 

• Participate in traditional and/or non-traditional classroom/laboratory settings and web-based courses as assigned; work with current faculty to utilize simulation learning and evaluation activities 

• Perform at a level that reflects scholarship and evidence-based teaching and clinical practices 

• Correct assignments, quizzes, examinations and care plans in a timely manner, using the agreed-upon grading policy 

• Educate and supervise students in laboratory and clinical settings (days, evenings, nights and weekends) in Carson City, Reno, and rural sites as assigned
