About the role

Finance professionals play a critical role in supporting the demands of multiple constituents, including AIG executives, regulators, and stakeholders, while staying at the forefront of accounting and reporting requirements and compliance strategies. The role oversees expenses covering entire AIG companies and affiliates, including business driven, IT, functional and corporate costs.

This is a critical role in the Compensation & Benefits (C&B) FP&A Team underneath Global GOE FP&A team. This role interacts directly with Regional Finance, Finance Business Support, and Controllership teams.  The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and have experience with quantitative and strategic analysis for C-Suit executives. As a senior finance professional, you are respected for your technical expertise and/or ability to oversee programs and processes. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, create strong analytics using data and experience, contribute to strategic initiatives, and offer solutions to identified problems.

Your contribution at AIG

Senior Finance Professionals are responsible for developing financial reporting and analytics to support business strategy execution.  You reach across geographical and functional organizations to seek support for the financial reporting and analytics you produce.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Establish and manage monthly/quarterly/annual Headcount, Compensation and Benefits reporting and delivering key reports to stakeholders
  • Partner with finance business support teams to understand and describe the key operational C&B drivers and prepare Q&A for potential questions.
  • Perform quarterly C&B expense walks using operational cost explanations, methodology, and definitions that can translate to actionable business partner drivers
  • Review, analyze, and challenge Forecast/Budget results and identify cost efficiency actions
  • Assist with the creation and communication of the Global FP&A GOE calendar to keeping everyone aware of key tasks, dates, and deliverables.
  • Develop pro forma data models and financials to support AIG future state scenarios
  • Develop C&B Pulse estimate and prepare monthly actual comparison to forecasts and budgets
  • Assist FP&A Director in linking functional expenses to post-allocated results

What we are looking for

  • 2+ years of experience in expense management, including C&B; experience in financial services, full insurance P&L experience is a plus;
  • Exceptional/advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills (including Think-cell or similar PowerPoint tools), ability to work with large data analysis and sophisticated leadership presentations requiring quick turnarounds
  • Ability to integrate strategic and operational information into quantitative analysis [and succeed with time, resource and information constraints]
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas to senior finance leaders, and a desire to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Experience in navigating/influencing a global team
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and analytical skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter and ability to multi-task
  • Team player with good problem-solving skills who is curious and willing to learn, and able to succeed in ambiguous scenarios;
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in a quantitative field (e.g., Finance, Accounting); advanced degree.

For positions based in CT, the base salary range $76,000-94,000. For positions based in New Jersey, the best salary range is $74,000-92,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
