About the role

Ensuring Chart’s Success…

The Facilities Generalist is responsible for electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical troubleshooting and repair within the manufacturing facility. The Facilities Generalist is directly involved with the execution of Chart’s Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program and will perform general facilities maintenance duties, as assigned.

This position is on our Night Shift: Monday - Thursday; 2:45pm-12:45am
There is a $2/hour shift differential for working on the night shift.
Some overtime may be required.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Performs general manual labor tasks as assigned.
  • Load, unload, lift, and move materials.
  • Uses hand and/or small portable power tools.
  • Relies on supervisory instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job to a degree determined by his/her experience.
  • Assists the Maintenance and Facilities Departments.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Your Education Should Be…

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience/training.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. with occasional heavier lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to climb a ladder and work off elevated aerial platforms.
  • Walk and stand during entire shift. 
  • Work in an office and industrial manufacturing environment with possible exposure to temperature extremes, overhead objects, material with rough edges & odors associated with cutting and welding.

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  •  Must have knowledge of departmental operations.
  • Must have knowledge of safety procedures and compliance.
  • Must have knowledge of shop standards.
