Position Summary

As a Sr. Manager, Asset and Configuration Manager focused on Configuration Management, you will be responsible for the engineering, design, and implementation of ServiceNow Discovery, and the maintenance and health of the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This includes leveraging all ServiceNow’s IT Operations Management (ITOM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) capabilities, including Service Mapping, implementation of best practices using ServiceNow’s Common Service Data Model (CSDM), as well as Hardware and Software Asset Management. 

  • Lead and manage the Asset and Configuration Management team in the design, deployment, and management of CMDB data management tools including Discovery and Service Mapping solutions for both on-premise and cloud resources 

  • Serve as the escalation point involving potential troubleshooting and problem resolution assistance 

  • Design and manage CMDB and Asset data integrations with other data sources using import sets, transform maps, API integrations, and the Identification and Reconciliation Engine 

  • Design and manage workflows for request driven data maintenance automation 

  • Develop, document, implement, and maintain CMDB governance processes, procedures, and policies 

  • Mentor and direct configuration management specialists and service mapping administrators through leading community of practice 

  • Continually drive improvement in the configuration management process 

  • Define, create, and monitor CMDB health reports, dashboards, and other reports that support auditing and compliance of CMDB management 

  • Establish and run Configuration Management Control Board (CMCB)that oversees the configuration management program, making sure value is delivered and process operates per business requirements 

  • Share best practices, cross-train staff and ensure that key stakeholders are informed of the CMDB processes 

  • Respond to requests/incidents following agreed Service Level Agreements 

 


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with ServiceNow’s ITOM and ITAM solutions, including the following:

  • CMDB, Discovery and Asset Management capabilities, as well as working knowledge of ITIL. 

  • Infrastructure and application onboarding and offboarding processes and how the CMDB can be integrated in those processes. 

  • General understanding of all aspects of infrastructure devices(i.e., server, network device, network protocols, application technologies, operating systems basics) 

  • Understanding hardware and software asset management practices and how those processes integrate and synchronize with the CMDB 

  • 2+ years of experience working in Agile/Scrum methodologies. 


Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in relevant technologies, methods, or platforms 

  • Worked for a large company (Fortune 500 Company)

  • Certified System Admin  

  • Discovery Fundamentals 

  • Experience with CSDM 3.0 

  • ITIL 4 Certification 

  • Ability to convert complex information into simple, explainable solutions 

  • Certification and experience at the level of ITIL Configuration Practitioner would be desirable 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to enable effective articulation of strategy 

    Project management and relationship management skills with large and diverse projects/groups 

    Ability to provide expert advice to teams and support them to deliver large projects 

Education Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent Experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$79,200.00 - $174,200.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education
