This internship is a 10-week long program with a set hourly rate of $30/hour.

 THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE 

We have business internships available in various divisions on our business and operations teams. Depending on your team assignment, you will have exposure in areas such as project and data analysis, process improvement, requirements gathering, and reporting. This position is specific to our Single Family - Capital Markets team. 

The ‘Capital Market’ team supports the Single-Family business by providing lender customers with various avenues to sell the mortgages they originate. This enables our customers to replenish their funds, make additional loans and hedge their risks in a cost-efficient manner. This division is comprised of the Capital Markets Pricing and Sales Desk, Whole Loan Conduit, Credit Risk Transfer (CRT), Credit Enhancement Strategy Management, Securitization Policy, Investor Engagement & Advocacy and Structured Transactions teams. This internship will be in Fannie Mae’s Market Room with daily exposure to the traders, other front office teams and the financial markets.

Examples of intern tasks and projects include: 

• Contributing to analyses in making financial, client, acquisition, or other business decisions 
• May conduct research, schedule and plan activities, coordinate and prepare deliverables, provide training support 
• Gather data to prepare analyses, reports, and schedules to communicate to management and clients 
• Participating in audits of financial records, operating procedures, and internal controls for assigned business units 
• Assisting in coordinating the development and monitoring of key risk indicators 

Qualifications

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM 

Minimum Qualifications 

• Be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship 
• Academic achievement (preferred GPA of 3.0 or above) 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Rising senior enrolled in a bachelor's degree program (2024 graduation date)
• Business, Economics, Finance, Management and Mathematics majors are preferred 
• Strong analytical background 
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to contribute to a team atmosphere  
• Self-starter, strong business acumen, and results focused 
• Superior communication skills, both oral and written 
• Fluency and aptitude with technology applications
