About the Position:

We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Administrative Support Assistant II, Dean's Office, Humanities and Social Sciences. The Administrative Support Assistant for the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) Dean's Office provides exceptional customer service for the Dean's suite, serving as the primary contact for faculty, staff, students, and guests. Greets visitors, checks in appointments, answers phones, and provides guidance and direction to students, faculty, and visitors using discretion and decorum. Responsible for document handling and tracking, providing the logistics for events and meetings, assisting with commencement activities, and providing key support for staff and management in HSS. Under general direction, provides administrative project support for the Dean, Associate Deans, Director of Development, and office staff as needed. Under general direction, processes grade change forms, gathers part time faculty contracts, and maintains official part-time faculty documents. Downloads online submissions for lecturer evaluations and range elevations and submits to Faculty Affairs and Records. Assists with Fall and Spring class schedule builds and oversees the winter and summer schedule builds. Serves as the Dean's Office department IT coordinator as well as back up for the department offices. Serves as backup to create and update fall and spring lecturer faculty workbooks. Maintains office supplies and orders supplies as necessary. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
High School diploma or the equivalent and three years of experience in general office, clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent. General working knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures, practices, and equipment. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling with demonstrated competence in effectively presenting standard information in writing.
