School Maintenance and Custodian (2025-2026)

Essential Functions:

• Maintain and clean building and grounds as specified in the School Maintenance Manual
• Clean classrooms between students transitions throughout the day to promote health and wellness in the school building
• Restock hand sanitizers, wipes, and alert operations team when supplies need to be ordered
• Set up breakfast and lunch for students, as well as grab-and-go meals for community members
• Make minor repairs
• Run errands as needed
• Move packages and furniture when this can be done safely
• Alert the administration of safety and security concerns
• Alert the administration of any damage or vandalism to the building
• Ensure that walkways and stairways are free of ice and snow (the school has a snow removal contract with an outside vendor)
• Interact in a professional way with all staff, students, and parents
• Serve as a positive role model for students
• Organize and order maintenance supplies and equipment
• Maintain a list of cleaning products and all documentation

Essential Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Local resident preferred: Trenton, Ewing, or Hamilton, NJ but not required
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• Experience cleaning and maintaining floors, bathrooms, and making minor repairs.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must pass State of NJ criminal history check
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good references from previous employer

Role Requirements:

• Boiler License Required
• Full-Time (40 hours/week)
• Hours: 7:00 AM- 3:30 PM 
• Occasional late evenings and weekends
