Experience a summer of “Big Dreams, Big Possibilities!” Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines seeks dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to be part of our 2025 Summer Camp Team at Camp Mary Atkinson in Selma, NC.

We have an opening for an Alpine Tower Director for our residential (overnight) camp at Camp Mary Atkinson, Selma, NC.
Position: Alpine Tower Director
Location: Camp Mary Atkinson, Selma, NC
Duration: Summer 2025 (May-August)
Compensation: Hourly rate of $17.00 per hour, including housing and meals after training.
We’re excited to offer all employees the opportunity to earn a $500 BONUS this summer!
Here’s how it works:
- $250 Mid-Summer Bonus: If hired, you will receive this at the end of June.
- $250 Completion Bonus: Earn this at the end of summer camp completion.
A Day in the Life:
- Supervise Campers and Staff: The Alpine Tower Director is a challenge course facilitator of our Alpine Tower.
- Plan & Lead Activities: The Alpine Tower Director is responsible for planning and directing a safe and fun adventure challenge program; training and supervising Adventure Challenge Staff; managing the physical facilities and equipment in the adventure challenge program areas, and participating in all summer camp events.
- Create Memories: Help make this summer unforgettable for campers—and for yourself! The Alpine Tower is a 50-foot high adventure ropes challenge course that offers an exciting challenge to Girl Scouts.

Requirements
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment Visas at this time.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Previous experience or knowledge of residential camping.
- Current certification in ARC first aid and CPR or the ability to obtain certification. Training will be provided.
- Current certification in site-specific Alpine Tower Facilitation or the ability to obtain certification (Training will be provided).
- Ability to plan, originate, organize, and carry out daily and special programs.
- Ability to supervise staff and campers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of youth development and the ability to relate positively to youth and adults.
- Program coordination skills and commitment to the Girl Scout mission.
- Willingness to live and work in a camp setting, including working nontraditional hours.
- Training and experience in a variety of program activities offered at the camp.
- Ability to supervise staff.
Physical Aspects of the Position:
- Ability to communicate and work with groups participating (age and skill levels) and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff.
- Endurance includes prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate program equipment and activities.
