Multispecialty Neurodiagnostic Technologist – Unregistered
Full Time / First Shift
The Neurodiagnostic team at Baptist Health Lexington is dedicated to delivering precise, compassionate, and expert diagnostic services for patients with neurological concerns. Our technologists play a critical role in supporting the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders by performing essential testing with professionalism and care. Whether assisting in outpatient procedures or responding to inpatient needs, our team works closely with clinical staff to ensure patients receive timely, high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
The Multispecialty Neurodiagnostic Technologist – Unregistered is responsible for performing quality routine and select complex neurodiagnostic procedures under the supervision of senior or registered technologists. Responsibilities include:
Performing EEGs and assisting with advanced neurodiagnostic studies including long-term monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction studies, EMG preparation, and carotid endarterectomy monitoring.
Preparing patients, equipment, and rooms for procedures.
Educating patients and families to help reduce anxiety and gain cooperation.
Ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.
Accurately documenting results and observations in hospital systems.
Participating in the training and orientation of new staff.
Cleaning and maintaining neurodiagnostic equipment.
Responding to department needs including taking on-call responsibilities and schedule adjustments.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
At least three years of experience in the medical field.
Three years of experience as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist required.
Graduate of an EEG program preferred.
Must maintain active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages in inpatient and outpatient settings.
