Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) Engineer Senior

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) Engineer Senior to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) to the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) in support of the development and sustainment of the Space Digital Ecosystem and iNtegration (SpaceDEN). Place of work is Colorado Springs, CO.

Responsibilities

As a Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) Engineer Senior with MTSI, you will provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) to the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) in support of the development and sustainment of the Space Digital Ecosystem and iNtegration (SpaceDEN).  The candidate will work in multi-level classified environments to include Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities.  A successful candidate should be a self-starter who possesses initiative, excellent communication skills, the ability to lead diverse teams and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and a proven problem solver.

 

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

• Designing and building solutions to deploy applications in customer-facing environments while automating the operational aspects of the solution through code.
• Focusing on automation of internal development, testing, and release processes, ensuring continuous delivery of software and updates.
• Building and setting up development tools and infrastructure, collaborating with stakeholders to improve processes, and ensuring system security against cybersecurity threats.
• Managing infrastructure projects, implementing automation tools, testing code and deployments, and monitoring system performance.
• Providing technical guidance and education to team members while maintaining best practices for infrastructure security and configuration standards.
• Handling code deployments across all environments, ensuring seamless updates and minimal downtime.
• Monitoring deployment metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Employing containerizing technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Provide guidance on developing, maintaining, and tracing requirements.
• Overseeing development and deployment on hybrid platforms that include cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud automation tools.
• Applying technical standards, principles, and theories in software development and infrastructure automation.
• Effectively coordinate with a geographically dispersed team.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of relevant experience performing engineering activities.
• At least 2 years’ experience in container-based technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
