The Associate Director of Administration and Finance (AD) will oversee the administrative and financial activities of the HIV Research Center in the Department of Medicine. The center is a virtual center housing the collaborative activities of Drs. George Shaw, Beatrice Hahn, Katie Bar and Raiees Andrabi at the interface of the Divisions of Infectious Diseases and Hematology Oncology. This position will be a business partner to the principal investigators in the center and have high level administrative role in the coordination of complex external collaborations, building infrastructure and oversight of center activities.Job Description
Ongoing Associate Director responsibilities include overseeing the development and administration of grants and operational budgets. The candidate will direct and manage all business processes for faculty and personnel including managing salaries; purchasing; budget administration; pre and post award grant administration, including day-to-day business operations. This position will provide leadership, professional development and supervision to staff.
The AD will provide financial oversight and planning which includes the annual budget process, monitoring, managing, reporting and projecting expenses during the year and taking the lead to prevent or solve financial issues as they arise. Manage post award activities including account setup, monitor and review of all sponsored projects expenditures including fund projections. Monitor and enforce compliance with sponsor guidelines and OMB Uniform Guidance. Meet with principal investigators to discuss and advise them on financial issues related to their portfolios.
