Job Summary:
Raytheon Digital Technology is seeking a seasoned professional to join this high impact team as a Network Engineer. This is an on-site position based in our McKinney, TX location, and may require occasional domestic travel to our other locations in the Domestic US. We are seeking a professional with advanced classified network infrastructure knowledge who can work autonomously with limited oversight from management to set up and troubleshoot classified networks throughout the McKinney site.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Ensure the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of classified network infrastructures.
- Configure, administer, and update network hardware and software, such as routers, switches, firewalls and encryption devices.
- Configure and troubleshoot Technical Security Controls to meet cybersecurity requirements.
- May manage small projects or processes.
- Maintains smooth operation of voice and data networks. Plans, evaluates, coordinates, and performs installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.
- Develop technical expertise in all areas of voice and data networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as switches, routers, firewalls, authentication servers, encryptors etc.
- Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, and other documentation. Where no documentation exists, new documentation will be created.
- Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
- Work with program engineers to resolve networking problems in tactical environments.
- Assist in the overall performance and capability of the Network Engineering team through mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing.
- Willingness and availability to work outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.
Please note: This role requires an active Top-Secret clearance on Day 1 which must be maintained throughout the time you hold this role. In addition, the incumbent must be willing and able to pass polygraphs throughout the course of employment.
Basic Qualifications:
- The role typically requires a bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience or 9 years’ experience in lieu of degree. Advanced degree with 3 years or associate degree with 7 years’ experience are also acceptable.
- An active and transferable U.S. government issued TOP SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems, including software upgrades.
- Experience with current cabling and fiber standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of encryption devices.
- Experience with access control list, security posture, and vendor best practices.
- Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities
- Active certifications:
- DoD-approved 8570 baseline certification at IAT Level II (e.g., Security+)
- Associate-level Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA)
- Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communications.
- Ability to work under time constraints.
- Experience with classified computing, STIG compliance, and network refreshes
- Experience as a Network Administrator in classified environments highly desired.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting:
- KG-350 ethernet encryptors
- Type-1 HAIPE encryptors
- VPN technologies and protocols such as IPSEC, GRE, L2TP, and DMVPN
- Cisco Unified Communication Manager or Call Manager Express
- Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE)
