Principal Engineer - Cloud & DevOps

We are now taking expressions of interest from US-based candidates with expertise in Microsoft Azure Cloud, DevOps & Migration for the position of Principal Engineer.

Responsibilities:
• Hands-on technical leadership within delivery teams, guiding engineers in designing, building, deploying and troubleshooting advanced Microsoft Azure Cloud, DevOps, and Migration solutions across enterprise environments.
• Implement enterprise-grade Azure Landing Zones, infrastructure, and automation frameworks aligned to client requirements and CAF best practices.
• Lead the hands-on execution of migrations using Dr Migrate and related Microsoft-native services.
• Configure and deploy Azure resources across compute, storage, networking, identity, and security domains, ensuring reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Build and maintain automated deployment pipelines (CI/CD) using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) with Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates.
• Develop and maintain scripts, modules, and reusable artefacts in PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python to streamline operations and improve engineering efficiency.
• Work with consultants to validate designs, perform peer reviews, and provide expert input into technical documentation and delivery standards.
• Participate in client workshops and demonstrations to provide technical insight and represent LAB3’s engineering excellence.
• Mentor and upskill junior engineers.

Required Skills:
• Azure Platform & Architecture: Deep hands-on experience across Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, including Landing Zones, enterprise-scale design, and governance Migration & Modernization: Proven expertise executing workload migrations using Azure Migrate (ideally also Dr Migrate), and CAF-aligned strategies for applications, data, and infrastructure.
• DevOps & Automation: In-depth experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, and YAML-based CI/CD automation; scripting with PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Python.
• Cloud-Native & Integration: Experience deploying and managing AKS, Container Apps, Logic Apps, API Management, and Event Grid in production environments.
• Security & Identity: Hands-on implementation of Entra ID, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault, and Zero Trust policies.
• Data & Infrastructure Operations: Experience building and operating solutions using Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Backup, and Site Recovery in hybrid environments.
• Monitoring & Reliability: Expertise with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, and automation of alerting and compliance baselines.
