At Humana, the MBA, MSBA, or MD/MBA Intern from the University of Louisville focuses on a variety of projects and tasks designated to provide a comprehensive understanding of different teams within a leading healthcare organization. We are recruiting for interns across the enterprise, several key areas include: 

 

• Data & Analytics: Data & Analytics are the building blocks for devising products, tools, and services that deliver on our promise of whole-person healthcare. In this area of focus, you will work on assignments such as translating a business need into an actionable and realistic enterprise analytics use case, implementing an analytic solution to a business problem, working with cutting edge tools and technology to design, evaluate, and implement a business solution to drive healthy outcomes with our members. 

• Procurement & Supplier Management: Procurement & Supplier Management is fueled by a strong sense of curiosity, dedicated to gaining a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics and supplier capabilities. We collaborate closely with business unit members to cultivate strategic relationships that enhance Humana's operations and improve outcomes for our members. Our team embodies an entrepreneurial spirit and thrives in a dynamic culture. Each day, our procurement team is committed to driving value for the business and providing Humana with a competitive advantage. 

• Strategy & Operations: Across our business, we depend on the development and execution of strategies that position the organization to meet both its business segment and enterprise level objectives.  In this area of focus, the work will entail analyzing complex business opportunities, needs and problems using data from internal and external sources and then subsequently identifying and producing recommendations based on analysis.   

• MarketPoint Strategy: This team supports distribution of Humana’s Retail business segment, which is comprised of the company’s Medicare and Medicaid businesses.  With over 9 million medical members and $67B in ’20 revenue, Retail is Humana’s largest business segment, comprising over 80% of the company’s total revenue and the majority of its earnings.  In this area, the work will partner with the senior leaders of the MarketPoint business, and more broadly with leaders throughout the enterprise, as they deliver strategy and transformation projects addressing some of the businesses’ most important distribution and experiential opportunities.

Required Qualifications 

• Currently enrolled and pursuing an MBA, MS Business Analytics (MSBA) or MD/MBA from University of Louisville 

• Available to start in August 2025 and work through July 2026 for 32 hours per week while enrolled in classes 

• Must not require sponsorship to work in the United States either now or in the future 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Superior leadership skills with enthusiasm, initiative and a passion for results 

• Ability to influence across multiple functional teams 

• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills 

• Have a strong academic history, with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA being desired 

• Be actively involved on-campus and/or in the community 

• Commitment to innovative thought, strategic thinking, and making a difference 

• Possess an interest in working in the healthcare industry
