About the role

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is seeking a qualified Automation Planning Manager (APM) to solve the complex challenges of ensuring planning, deployment and implementation of delivery station Mechlite Automation. These programs make up some of Amazon and AMZL's most strategic initiatives as the team automates and optimizes the network. In this role, the individual will have direct responsibility for all projects at their assigned sites. The Automation Planning Manager will be the liaison between a multitude of stakeholders including External Automation Vendors, MHE Engineering, Supply Chain, Start-Up Execution, Design Engineering, WHS, and many more. This role calls for an individual who can over index on ownership to de-conflict multiple competing projects at each site and drive timely delivery. This role’s scope necessitates the ability to solve ambiguous issues and provide effective solutions to gaps between teams, processes and systems.

Key job responsibilities
• Lead multiple stakeholder teams to develop site level project timelines.
• Solve complex problems that pose risk to project delivery and key milestones through inquisitive deep dives with stakeholder Subject Matter Expert (SME) input.
• Lead stakeholder teams in identifying opportunities to reduce spend in assigned regions through analysis of available assets, business needs, and returns on investment.
• Clearly communicate project and program issues and challenges to senior leaders in writing and via in-person/ remote meetings.
• Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve project/ program management efficiency.
• Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs.
• Up to 15% travel required.
• Experience with permitting and construction management is a plus.
• Experience collaborating and influencing team members, working with development teams and other business groups, and presenting projects to senior leadership on a regular basis.
• Experience in partnering to build and execute new initiatives and roadmaps each year.
• Experience compiling, managing and reporting on weekly project metrics
• Experience leading meetings with senior leadership to align on project requirements.

Basic Qualifications


- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
