As Contract Consultant, Government, you will work closely with internal business unit partners and Federal Government customers on all stages of the government contracting lifecycle. Contract Consultants demonstrate a solid understanding of government contracting process and compliance.  You will be responsible for proactively setting priorities for teams to ensure task completion while coordinating work activities with other team members.

Key Responsibilities

Business Opportunities and Strategy

  • Monitor government and third-party outlets such as SAM.gov for opportunities that align with the BDX product portfolio.

  • Completing tasks in support of solicitation process with responsibility for opportunity identification, solicitation review, internal team meetings

  • Work alongside business unit SMEs, customers, and sales to produce solicitation responses that are accurate and compliant

  • Develop solicitation project plans to handling tasks and deadlines with internal partners, including escalating issues in a timely manner, and communicate project status to management

  • Responsible for ongoing management and tracking of the solicitation process from identification of contract opportunity to award

Contract Management

  • Responsible for thorough and accurate review of all government contract awards.

  • Oversee the lifecycle of federal government contracts, from the solicitation phase to contract closeout.

  • Responsible for contract extension and closeout procedures; assist with analysis based on business needs.

  • Review and process any standard modifications (Product Add/Delete, Price Increase/Decrease, Customer Add/Delete, Administrative Changes), mass modifications, contract extensions, and/or contract closeout requests from customers; Engage SMEs as applicable

  • Identify, create, monitor, and update contractual obligations within CLM and communicate obligations to internal partners when applicable to ensure future requirements are completed as agreed upon within the award

  • Coordinate with functional business partners to ensure all post award activities are completed and prepared for start of award

  • Develop data requirements for reporting when required to include sales reporting and other contract reporting requirements

Compliance and Risk Assessment

  • Review FAR and other government clauses

  • Assist with Government audit activities

  • Maintain compliance with BD document retention policy in CLM

  • Ensure that contractual obligations are met adequately and on time; engaging internal SMEs as needed

Requirements

  • BA/BS required with 3 years of contract management experience, or without Bachelor degree, 5+ years extensive experience in the applicable area preferred

  • Keen contract interpretation with the ability to assess requirements and collect information to compliantly satisfy contractual obligations

  • Demonstrated matrix management skills; ability to handle tasks across various teams to meet obligation due dates

  • Consistent record to quickly establish credibility, trust, and support across the organization

  • Strong customer-centric skills

  • Strong communication; must have the ability to execute in an everchanging environment
