Your Responsibilities

 

As a Software Engineer for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group located in Urbandale, IA, you will work on our public API platform for John Deere Operations Center. We operate in a collaborative and open environment using the latest in web and cloud technologies as we build the future of precision agriculture.

 

• Developing and supporting high quality John Deere agronomic software solutions which may include web applications and RESTful APIs
• Engaging in all aspects of the software delivery cycle including the design, build, test, deploy, and support of software applications
• Engaging in Agile software development activities including team sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
• Supporting a culture of software craftsmanship best practices including Test Automation and Continuous Integration

What Skills You Need

 

• Experience with programming languages/frameworks such as Java Spring or C# ASP.NET Web API
• Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs
• Experience in roles that required strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
• Experience in roles that required strong analytical and problem solving skills

What Makes You Stand Out

 

• Experience with programming languages/frameworks such as React and Node.js
• Experience in front and/or back end web application development
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience with any of the following: Agile development processes, Test Driven Development, Acceptance Test Driven Development, or Continuous Integration
• Experience in designing and developing SQL or NoSQL DBMSs

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

• Bachelor's degree in either Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, MIS, or other IT related discipline
