JOB TITLE:  

Food Pantry Assistant

JOB PURPOSE:   

This position will help with daily operations of running the Food Pantry while assisting the Food Pantry Student Coordinator and the Food Security Coordinator.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Stock food, inventory food, assist patrons visiting pantry, keep pantry clean, assist with ordering and unloading deliveries, and other duties as needed.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS: 

Help with outreach in promoting Food Pantry and Pokes Center for Community Resources around UW campus.

Assist with other programs within the Pokes Center for Community Resources when needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Current UW student with minimum 2.5 GPA.

Availability during Food Pantry hours, currently Tuesday/Thursday 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm and Wednesday/Friday 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm.  Please indicate schedule of availability in cover letter or resume.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • Food service sanitation techniques and regulations.
  • Effective personal hygiene.
  • Move objects weighing up to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Follow routine written and oral instructions.
  • Safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Understand and follow safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Work as a team member and foster a cooperative work environment.
