Senior Marine Professional - Tanker Vetting

Aker BP’s Supply Chain Management & Logistics function aspires to be the best in the industry. Our core deliverables are to run the company’s supply chains, shore bases, sourcing and contracts departments, procurement, marine and aviation operations. 

 

The Marine Assurance section is responsible for quality assurance of all vessels used by Aker BP and for the company's marine standards and processes. The function also delivers marine support to our projects, assets and Supply Chain. 

 

The Marine Professional will report to the Marine Assurance Manager but will be required to work across the function, other functions and business units to meet Aker BP’s goals.   

 

In this role and as part og a team, you will be responsible for conducting marine assurance and vetting of our contracted tankers and tankers chartered by our buyers. 

 

Typical tasks will include: 

• Marine assurance and vetting of contracted tankers and tankers chartered by our buyers
• Follow up Company’s fleet of Tankers to ensure safe and efficient operations
• Manage and cooperate with Contractors and Partners
• Manage and follow up SIRE inspections and reports
• Plan, execute and follow-up TMSA audits
• Investigation of incidents
• Risk evaluations
• Manage and work towards continues improvement of Company’s marine operations, marine standards and procedures
• Drive standardization of the marine industry on the Norwegian Continental Shelf in collaboration with other operators

Qualifications: 

• Education and experience as Senior STCW Officer on tankers. Relevant similar education will be considered
• Experience from onshore work for Tanker Owners/Operators, Oil Companies, or Marine Consultancy Companies. 
• Strong knowledge of offshore marine operations and relevant standards, rules and regulations applicable for the Norwegian Continental Shelf
• SIRE accreditation will be advantageous
• It is a requirement that you are able to travel offshore in this position
• Good abilities in English and Norwegian, both verbal and written 
• Good digital skills, including abilities to use digital tools and suggest improvements to digital solutions
