Job Summary

The Operations team at MachineQ provides general and technical assistance to all of our customers, spanning small start-ups to Fortune 100 enterprises. The team more broadly serves as a liaison between MachineQ internal resources (particularly Product, Engineering, and Sales teams) and our customers, ensuring successful deployment of the company’s LPWAN enterprise IoT platform. Operations is responsible for delivering end-to-end professional field services covering the installation and maintenance of MachineQ infrastructure. The team also oversees customer support, solutions delivery, and supply chain and logistics for the company.

Job Description

The Technical Project Management role will serve on the MachineQ Operations team, assuming responsibility for management and growth of our IoT Deployment Services practice.

The Operations team has a track record of delivering large-scale, high velocity, unprecedented IoT projects leveraging the MachineQ platform, to our largest customers. The ability to not only enable IoT solutions, but bring them to life by rapidly deploying across diverse use cases, customer environments, and industries – is a key value-add for our clients and a unique differentiator in the IoT space.

The Technical Project Management role will assume core responsibilities for the day-to-day function and delivery of our professional services for one or more customers, and other responsibilities relevant to the successful delivery of large-scale IoT implementations.

This team member is also responsible for quickly achieving fluency across MachineQ’s underlying technologies, operational toolsets, features, and product portfolio. Developing a deep familiarity with MachineQ technologies and products should be combined with an analytical, data-driven mindset and a polished, professional approach to interactions with clients and internal stakeholders alike.

This position requires an autonomous and self-starter approach, with critical thinking and superb attention to detail being key requirements for success. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to learn quickly and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment, while growing and managing a strong-performing team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scoping and architecture review activities for initiated programs and follow process for program approval at architecture initiation board.
  • Create and track end to end project plan in conjunction with the lead engineer.
  • Track tasks and milestones across all parties, including vendors.
  • Coordinate, manage and drive test organization activities.
  • Facilitate bug triage, manage bug lists across vendors, track issue resolution with the lead engineer.
  • Coordinate change request generation and tracking.
  • Make project scheduling decisions in conjunction with the lead engineer or facilitate conversations necessary for decision making.
  • Report on project's progress as required by product engineering management.
  • Identify and manage critical path and risk areas and create risk response and mitigation plans.
  • Report weekly (or as necessary) on any risks/issues.
  • Escalate issues as required to unblock open issues.
  • Work with other project managers to track and manage inter-project dependencies.
  • Communicate updates on major milestones, escalations and status to lead engineer and lead project manager.
  • Work with lead engineer and management to set project specific budget.
  • Project spend rates based on the budgets.
  • Manage within budgetary objectives set by manager, monitoring and controlling costs within functional area.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
