Description:

POSITION PURPOSE

  • Clinical Reviewer opportunity who will be responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting clinical data elements on eligible cases for CMS, TJC, and multi-hospital collaborations to improve Quality & Safety (CQI).

  • Part-time benefited position scheduled 40 hours bi-weekly. (.5 FTE)

  • Comp Range: Min 22.86 / Mid 27.99 / Max 33.13 per hour

MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Associates degree required.  RHIT, Medical Assistant, LPN or RN licensure preferred.   

  • Experience: 3 years of experience in medical records and/or abstraction required.  Thorough knowledge of healthcare systems with hospital experience. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Stay current on clinical indicators, compliance requirements, and measure specifications.

  • Review medical records (concurrent/retrospective) for documentation compliance; communicate interventions to clinical staff.

  • Manage outcome data tools and provide regular feedback to staff and leadership.

  • Identify learning needs and provide/refer for education on clinical measures.

  • Abstract medical records per client specs for populations such as Heart Failure, MI, Pneumonia, SCIP, and Stroke.

  • Consult and support clinical/operational teams.

  • Validate measures and pass IRR as required by client.

  • Transmit data to client databases per standards and guidelines.

  • Monitor QNet updates; submit clarifying questions when needed.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and reasons for defects; prepare analysis reports.

  • Recommend documentation improvements.

  • Respond promptly to inquiries from clinical champions, nursing leaders, executives, and corporate staff.
