The Job:  

The Supply Chain Optimization Planner is primarily responsible for planning stock transport orders (STOs) between facilities to improve and protect service level as well as coordinating and prioritizing inbound loads into the different facilities in our distribution network.  This involves obtaining output from various systems, coordinating with planners & SC management to build appropriate loads while coordinating with receiving departments and exterior companies to facilitate expediting trailers and containers.  The SCO Planner will also plan 3PL promotional orders at our 4 palletizing locations in TM and WMS supporting OB to customer orders/GSV.

Essential Job Function:

• Create Stock Transport Orders (STOs) from DC to DC and between all facilities as needed for the Tools business sites
• Support prioritization of STO processing in DCs – outbound / inbound
• Support and coordinate STO priorities with carriers
• Communicate to planners and the business process team system generated recommended shipments & dynamic deployment issues needing correcting.  Assist these teams in corrective action
• Technical support for STO creation and issue resolution
• End user testing for STO system changes such as adding a new facility to our network
• Continuously monitors service level impact, performance to budget and provides metrics as needed
• Plan promo orders from SAP in TM and WMS, for the four 3rd party palletizing DCs can print, pick, pack and load OB to customer shipments
• Coordinate these promo orders with Sales Ops., the 3PL DC teams and management
• Other duties and reporting as assigned

The Person:  

• Bachelor’s degree is required or actively seeking degree
• 3+ yrs experience in a supply chain function
• Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, transportation operations and company functions
• Demonstrated effectiveness with interpersonal and communication skills at all levels within an organization
• Proficient in utilizing MS Word, Excel, Office & PowerPoint, knowledge in JDA, SAP and WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) is preferred
