About the role

Join our intellectually diverse team of professionals at Consumer & Community Banking as a Data Domain Architect, where we utilize innovative techniques to answer complex questions using one of the world's largest consumer data repositories. Our division offers a range of financial services to our Chase customers, leading the U.S. in credit card sales and deposit growth. The Finance Decision Optimization team leverages data to develop solutions for businesses, providing value and protection for customers. We work closely with Technology and Product to provide cutting-edge data and analytics infrastructure, powering Chase with insights for optimal customer and business outcomes.

As a Data Domain Architect in Consumer & Community Banking, you will be joining an intellectually diverse team of economists, statisticians, engineers, and other analytics professionals, focused on quantitative modeling. The team answers complex and unique questions, utilizing innovative quantitative and computational techniques and leveraging one of the world’s largest repositories of consumer data.  We work closely with our partners throughout JPMorgan Chase to assess and execute critical business decisions for the Finance organization.

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Build and compile data pipelines, complex predictive models and optimization routines into executable packages for prototype QA testing and production deployment.
  • Assist in solution backtesting exercises for Fair Lending, Model Governance and our Financial stakeholders.
  • Conduct transaction data analyses with Hadoop/Cloud and big data technologies and turn massive amounts of data into actionable insights that drive business value.
  • Find opportunities to create and automate repeatable analysis for the business.
  • Work on cross functional teams and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactively raise critical issues to the business and technology partners.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and provide recommendations for testing new and emerging technology.
  • Support ongoing technology evaluation process and proof of concept projects.
  • Be a thought leader, mentor, and train junior staff.
  • Ensure project delivery within timelines and meet critical business needs.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities:

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience as a software developer, data/ML engineer, data scientist, business intelligence engineer
  • Working knowledge of banking, specifically retail deposits, auto and mortgage lending
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Financial Engineering, MIS, Mathematics, Statistics or other quantitative subject
  • Superior problem-solving skills coupled with ability to understand business requirements and to communicate complex information effectively to broad audiences.  
  • Highly detail oriented and have demonstrated experience executing deliverables on schedule.
  • Good team player and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to multitask and efficiently manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate across teams using a consultative approach.
  • Self-starter demonstrated strong work ethic.
  • Strong track record of success as demonstrated by professional/educational background & accomplishments.
  • Eagerness to stay updated with the latest advancements in cloud data technologies and machine learning.

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities: 

  • Proficient in Python programming, with a strong grasp of its application in data processing and machine learning.
  • Advanced skills in SQL for complex query writing, data manipulation, and analysis.
  • Understanding of objected-oriented and functional programming concepts.
  • Experience with multiple programs such as the Anaconda ecosystem, TensorFlow, XGBoost, Apache Spark, AWS EC2 and EMR environments, Tableau, Alteryx, and others
  • Strong experience in data engineering, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Solid understanding of Git for version control and collaborative coding.
  • Experience in practical data analysis and cleansing, modeling (machine learning, time series, NLP), visualization. and containerization/orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
