We are looking for a customer-focused, strategic, and proven leader to join as an Assistant Manager of Insurance Agency, overseeing the development and execution of Insurance sales strategies, accountability for Insurance production goals, member experience, profitability, and other key department objectives and projects.

Responsibilities – Assist the Agency Manager in day-to-day responsibilities including, overseeing Insurance Specialists, managing operational efficiencies within the agency, helping to mitigate risk by effectively reinforcing policy and procedure, managing appointments with carriers, as well as other duties assigned by the AVP of Insurance Agencies.

Leadership:

  • Lead the Insurance sales team to achieve sales goals, service level agreements, and superior member experience through effective execution of selling techniques, marketing ideas, and exceptional service standards.
  • Ensure the Insurance sales team’s adherence to Credit Union and departmental standards. Prepare timely evaluations that accurately measure employee performance and provide direction for future growth and development. Practice Integrity Coaching principles.
  • Routinely coaching using the Integrity Coaching principles and Member Advantage philosophy, evaluate progress and provide frequent and timely feedback to the team.
  • Motivate team, set and communicate clear expectations and goals for employee performance and responsibilities.
  • Hire, supervise, evaluate, counsel, and terminate (when necessary).
  • Ensure proper staffing and training of staff; responsible for the interviewing and selection of qualified candidates and perform all responsibilities by current organizational goals and standards. 
  • Coach, train, and manage assigned staff, ensuring adherence to Credit Union and departmental standards. Prepare timely evaluations that accurately measure employee performance and provide direction for future growth and development.
  • Monitor team production, service metrics, and pipeline performance to ensure office goals are achieved.
  • Serve as the primary leader of the office and liaison between agency leadership and local staff.

Business Development & Production:

  • Actively produce new insurance business through inbound and outbound sales activities, including referrals, credit union partnerships, networking, and marketing initiatives
  • Maintain a personal sales pipeline and consistently meet or exceed individual production goals established by agency leadership.
  • Conduct insurance coverage reviews and cross-sell opportunities for existing members to expand household penetration.
  • Participate in community events, credit union promotions, and marketing campaigns to generate leads and increase brand awareness for the agency.
  • Track personal production, lead conversion, and pipeline activity using agency CRM tools and reporting systems.

Strategic:

  • Assists in preparing, implementing, and monitoring the budget for the department that is consistent with the overall strategic plan and annual budget.
  • Develop sales goals based on the departmental sales budget and current and projected market conditions to maximize total departmental sales performance, utilizing all available internal and external resources.
  • Review loss ratios with carriers and adjust processes when needed.
  • Identify local marketing opportunities and partnerships to generate new business leads.
  • Work with agency leadership to develop sales goals based on departmental budget and projected market conditions.

Operational:

  • Create and monitor reports that enhance pipeline management, sales, member experience, and quality. Provide feedback from reports to leadership.
  • Understand and comply with the rules and regulations associated with the Insurance industry.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all agency records are accurate, current, and up to date with insurance carriers, external websites, internal documentation within the Credit Union, and all other entities the insurance agency works with.
  • Must demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to the U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
