About the Manufacturing & Supply Chain Team
The Manufacturing and Supply Chain team brings the visions of our colleagues to life. Once our teams have landed on a product, we identify what they need to build the product. We’re passionate about every product we build because it reinforces our commitment to sound.
The Buyer is responsible for procurement of finish goods from our suppliers and ensuring on time delivery to our warehouse / 3PL, while working to achieve inventory targets.
The Buyer will plan and schedule deliveries to optimize inventories in support of production schedules/business demands by working with forecasting data/teams, planning teams, commodity teams and shipping/receiving teams.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain Material master in Bose ERP system making sure to drive demand accurately.
- Weekly coverage reports to identify current coverage based on customer demand.
- Work with Bose Logistics to coordinate inbound transportation for urgent shipments.
- Monitors inventory levels and takes necessary action to adjust according to inventory requirements.
- Coordinates and assists, with the respective commodity manager, in maintaining a supply base that adheres to Bose policies and procedures.
- Manages the cross functional communication necessary to maintain weekly demand and supply plans that support customer and inventory requirements.
- Monitors open purchase orders, follows up and expedites open items. Communicates to appropriate individuals any change in delivery, price, or fluctuations.
- Address and resolve any complexities arising from procurement orders, ensuring prompt confirmations and proactive problem-solving.
- Monitors supplier performance communicates with leadership and takes action to maintain high levels of supplier performance as required.
- Maintains and updates supplier databases as required.
- Performs data analysis to proactively plan or resolve issues.
- Maintains positive, cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Chain related.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining an individual workload (Automotive preferred)
- Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationship.
- Fundamental knowledge of procurement processes/best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations management, or related field.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational, negotiation and planning skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in purchasing practices and supply chain management.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in fast paced, changing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels across the organization.
- Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Detail oriented, very well organized and data driven.
- Solid understanding of production processes
