Staff Multimodal Product Designer

Why this job’s a big deal:

We’re looking for a visionary Staff Multimodal Product Designer for our AI Experiences team, focused on Penny, our AI travel assistant. You'll lead the evolution of Penny’s multimodal (voice, chat, touch) interactions, crafting the future of one of the most advanced AI travel assistants in the industry. Working closely with marketing, product, and engineering teams, you'll ensure Penny’s interface remains cutting-edge, intuitive, and visually engaging.

In this role you will get to:

• On any given day, you will find yourself working across teams to develop/design solutions, mentor & lead a team of junior/senior engineers, responsible for running capacity tests, post-mortems and incident command automate processes and tackle critical production issues.

• Conceptualize and design new features for release on iOS and Android platforms.

• Work with cross-functional teams to build new products and plan improvements.

• Lead all aspects of content, rates, inventory and product in the market to increase hotel success and product conversion

• Design and build test cases and leverage existing Automation Frameworks to build new test scripts while maintaining existing test scripts as per product requirements.

• Use quantitative and qualitative data to make informed design decisions.

• Conduct user research and testing activities.

• Iterate solutions to streamline and identify more effective paths to success.

• Help defines clear hypotheses to validate product concepts.

Who you are: 

• 8+ years of product design experience.

• Deep knowledge of iOS Human Interface Guidelines and Android Material Design.

• Familiarity with agile product development processes, and lean product development methods.

• Strong understanding of usability and accessibility standard methodologies.

• Designs content-first and mobile-first, and takes into account technical feasibility and development level of effort.

• Understands modularity and reusability of assets, while maintaining and adding to design systems.

• Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate concepts, goals, and a strong rationale for design decisions.

• Provides direct and impactful feedback in collaboration sessions and workshops.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, certain roles may be eligible for an annual bonus and/or equity grant. 

The salary range for this position is $175,000- $200,000K USD.
