We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to partner with our Market Control team(s) and ensure financial statement accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.  This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow and thrive in a fast-paced environment.



Salary Range: $52,000 to $58,000 annually + bonus eligibility (if applicable).  This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.

Partner with the Market Control team(s) to facilitate the accounts receivable duties for the assigned franchisees/business segments to ensure financial statement accuracy and compliance with US GAAP: 

• Ensure monthly actual sales are reported by franchisees and uploaded to Krise. Verify that receivable transactions (royalties and fees) are recorded accurately and in accordance with our contract terms. 
  • Monitor and follow-up for unreported sales; escalate to Market Control any franchisees not reporting
  • Validate periodic sales accruals are posted, as necessary
• Initiate direct debit withdrawals from franchisee bank accounts in satisfaction of obligations and apply payments to outstanding receivables in JDE. Monitor direct debit rejections and work with franchisees to collect outstanding AR.
• Monitor foreign currency bank account(s) and perform cash application on a bi-weekly basis; address ad hoc queries from the Market Team and franchisees on aging balances and cash application.
• Generate billings to franchisees and third parties for miscellaneous services provided in JDE; record associated income and receivable based on the foreign currency requirement. 
• Participate in monthly AR Aging reviews with the Market Control team(s) and review franchisees with collectability issues. Provide initial contact to franchisees in an attempt to collect outstanding obligations.     
• Maintain master store data within JDE: i.e. new franchisees, new stores, closed stores, transfers, etc.

Monitor and respond to franchisee inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

 

Minimum Requirements

• Some College Accounting courses
• 2+ years public or private industry accounting experience 
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills a must 
• Proven computer skills 

 

Preferred Requirements 

• Experience with a large International Company   
• Proven analytical and financial reporting skills
• Experience with JDE and Microsoft products (such as Excel Pivot tables and vlookups)
• Understanding of foreign currency accounting
• Experience in the QSR or retail environment
