Overview
A senior management position within Safety and Emergency Management’s Office of Emergency Management and Business Continuity responsible for leading regional emergency preparedness programs. Serves as an emergency management subject matter expert. Position will play an integral role in supporting a highly regarded team of emergency management and business continuity professionals working in partnership to build organizational resilience to adverse events.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Demonstrated knowledge and experience in applying advanced emergency management and business continuity principles and practices. Ability to lead various emergency management prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery activities across organizational lines. Experience in developing, implementing and delivering comprehensive emergency preparedness programs. Prior experience designing and instructing various emergency management, business continuity and safety-related training courses. Background in managing compliance and reporting requirements for mandatory emergency preparedness standards. Extensive background in developing, delivering and/or facilitating emergency preparedness drills and exercises. Proficiency in the use of standardized incident management software such as WebEOC. Experience serving in an official incident management capacity during a formal activation. Prior experience in developing grant proposals and managing grant programs. Possess strong coalition-building skills capable of developing collaborative relationships with diverse external and internal cohorts. Excellent conceptual and critical thinking skills. Possess strong analytical, problem identification and resolution capabilities. Clear capacity to communicate verbally and in writing, effectively presenting ideas and providing plans, policies and procedures in a clear and concise manner to internal customers, team members and senior leadership. Able to consistently demonstrate a high degree of accountability, personal integrity and emotional maturity. Proven ability to effectively, continuously and discreetly work with confidential and potentially sensitive information. Demonstrated commitment to working with individuals from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
