JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State Law Montague Law Library is accepting applications for a Part-Time Library Support Assistant to work as a Digitization Production Assistant. Under the direction of the Head of Faculty and Research Services, this position will support the library by collecting metadata about historic Pennsylvania legal documents, examine related documents for relevant information, and perform quality checks on files being sent to the project vendor. The assistant will be expected to work 20-24 hours per week either onsite or remotely within driving distance to campus. If remote, visits to campus are required on a semi-weekly basis.
This position requires excellent time management skills, the ability to critically evaluate content, experience with Microsoft excel, and the ability to problem-solve without close monitoring. Additional training and instructions will be provided.
This part time position does not include benefits and has a starting wage of $17.00 per hour. It requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a short-term position, limited to the duration of the project. The term of employment will be at least one year with the possibility of extension.
