About the role:

As a Data Technical Lead, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the technical aspects of data management initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders, to design and implement data management solutions that align with the program's objectives. Your technical expertise, leadership skills, and ability to drive innovation will be instrumental in shaping the data management strategy and ensuring the successful delivery of data solutions.

  • Lead and oversee the technical aspects of data management initiatives within the Unified Platform Data Management program.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data management requirements, develop technical solutions, and ensure successful implementation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to data engineers, data scientists, and other team members.
  • Design and implement data management architectures, frameworks, and processes to support the program's objectives.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of data solutions by implementing best practices and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data management and recommend innovative solutions to improve data capabilities.
  • Conduct technical reviews and provide feedback on data management solutions to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure data privacy, compliance, and protection.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data management systems to identify and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in data management and provide thought leadership to the team.

What we are looking for: 

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in data management or related roles, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership position
  • Strong background in data management, including data governance, data integration, data quality, and data analytics
  • Proficiency in data management technologies and tools such as data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance frameworks
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive
  • Familiarity with data modeling techniques and tools
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within 90 days of joining Raft

Highly preferred:

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire technical teams
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in the defense or government sector is a plus

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and/or maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance
