The Toro Company is seeking an Electrical and Controls Project Engineer who will be responsible for performing a variety of technical duties relating to the electrical, instrumentation, and control functions in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
Lead and Manage Capital Improvement Projects associated with new equipment installations, electrical hardware and software upgrades by developing capital appropriation requests, managing the project budget, adhering to project schedules, specifying detailed engineering requirements, and Managing the Execution of the Installation while effectively communicating to all associated Plant Teams
Maintain, troubleshoot and modify software programs for material handling control systems, including PLCs and industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus
Support Real Time Plant Performance Monitoring System
Keeps competencies up to date by attending trainings and seminars
Assist in training and developing Maintenance Technicians on electrical controls systems
Act as 2nd level escalation support for the Maintenance team. Appropriately escalate downtime situations to vendors for support to restore equipment operation.
Adheres to the requirements of Company safety policies and procedures
Follows all requirements of Hazardous Energy Control programs, applicable NEC, ANSI, CDRH, NFPA, OSHA, Federal, State and Local regulations. Safety training is provided.
Participates in Lean Kaizen and Continuous Improvement events.

What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Related Field
Thorough understanding of industrial and manufacturing automation controls principles, operations and troubleshooting
5-7 years minimum: identify, maintain, troubleshoot, and modify PLCs and associated components, HMI components, control network components, and Motor Controls (including motor starters, Variable Frequency Drives, DC drives, and standard electrical components). Preferably Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC experience
Expert AutoCad skill level: interpreting and modifying drawings both mechanical and electrical
Project Management experience preferred
