Vice President, Operations, Aerospace and Space Explorations

To support our rapid growth and expansion into new technologies and global regions we are searching for a VP Operations, Aerospace and Space Explorations. As the VP Operations, you will oversee all aspects of the aerospace and space business unit, including proposals, orders of awarded business, design for manufacturing engineering, supply chain management and customer service. Additionally, the role will ensure that business processes are streamlined to drive both shareholder and employee satisfaction. Specifically, in this leadership role you will work cross functionally to define, document, implement, and train the organization on a clear and structured process for pre and post manufacturing to scale for aggressive growth with proper margins and ROI.

The candidate must be a collaborative leader with a strong sense of urgency, the ability to influence, be process driven and organized, and have superior knowledge of aerospace, space, and defense manufacturing disciplines. The person will lead a team of managers, engineers, customer service and manufacturing professionals who are experts in manufacturing operations.
Business Planning and Execution
- Participate in the development, planning, coordination, and implementation of the overall business plan, including organizational structure, capital budgets, new products, enhancements to technology, and future expansion.
- Identify and drive best practices for the management of third-party suppliers of aerospace, space exploration and defense by monitoring or leading industry practices.
- Develop and prepare annual, quarterly, and monthly objectives, including business plans, improvement plans, KPI operational goals, KPI growth goals, and customer satisfaction objectives.
- Operate as part of the operation’s senior management team, working collaboratively with your peers to achieve broad company goals and objectives.
Manufacturing Operations
- Rapidly grow the business unit, while establishing competitive on time delivery and first-time quality, combined with superior customer service
- Drive a culture and discipline of outstanding customer service and partner support
- Lead the aerospace and space team through engineering analysis, customer technical sales support, order fulfillment, problem investigation and resolution.
- Oversee the Aerospace and Space Manufacturing Engineering team which manages post order DFM, drives sourcing, and establishes manufacturing strategies for complex orders.
- Work closely with customers and partners to ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
- Drive systems and manufacturing automation projects to reduce operational costs, and maintenance related projects to improve and maintain equipment and facilities.
- Create, implement, and ensure adherence to Quality Management Systems, Operations Procedural Manuals, Safety and Environment policies and standards.
Product and Partner Development
- Key collaborator with our Supplier Development and Data Insight and Analytics teams in the assessment and support of key initiatives and problem-solving activities.
- Partner with our Product Development team to drive system enhancements to meet efficiency and functionality goals for customers, partners, and employees.
Qualifications / Requirements
- You have 15 or more years of experience in manufacturing operations, including experience in customer care and supply chain management, with a minimum of 5 years in aerospace and space.
- You pride yourself as an experienced leader who enjoys mentoring and coaching engineers and business leaders
- A strong leader, communicator, morale builder.
- You are flexible, ambitious and desire to grow into a broader or higher leadership role.
- You enjoy the puzzle of getting everything done in a fast paced, constantly changing environment with tight deadlines.
- You have experience and knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
- You have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or 15 years manufacturing experience in science and technology companies
- Strong, experience in the development, planning, and execution of objectives
- A strong business acumen, able to balance short- and long-term profitability and maximize both supplier and customer lifetime value.
