The Opportunity 

The Procurement Category Manager for Packaging will develop and execute procurement packaging strategies to drive innovation, ensure supply, manage costs, and uphold stewardship. Key responsibilities include strategy development, cost savings delivery, and supplier relationship management.

 

• Develop and implement procurement packaging strategies with cross-functional teams.
• Lead sourcing events, supplier negotiations, and manage stakeholder engagement.
• Manage bid proposals, service agreements, and business award recommendations.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers to ensure best-in-class cost, service delivery, and innovation.
• Build financial models to understand cost structures and identify savings opportunities.
• Manage supplier relationships and support efforts to resolve supplier performance issues.
• Track costs, savings, and contract compliance.
• Provide regular reports to senior leadership on strategy, savings, and KPIs.
• Act as a procurement horizontal work process owner for major procurement processes.

 

 The Skills you will bring to the tea

 

• I Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Operations/Business Management, Engineering; CPSM and/or MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of procurement experience, preferably in food or fortification manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and work across teams and regions.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP, and strong MS Suite skills
• Strong understanding of financial measurement and continuous improvement concept
• Semi-regular domestic travel (5–10%) to visit stakeholders, tradeshows, suppliers, and other events

This range may not be applicable to other locations. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.  Annual salary for Illinois - based employees for this role is $100,000 to $140,000.
