Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed. At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!
This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. We are looking for a fluids and thermal analyst to help craft the gas subsystem for the Lunar Transporter spacecraft. Work will include the complete life cycle of the sub-assembly from definition, interfaces, conceptual design, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and operations. This position goes from initial design, to analyzing, to getting hardware, launching, and operating in space.
A successful candidate will understand fluid and thermal systems, components, fluid dynamics, and compressible flow for space vehicles.
The position will work under a lead analyst accountable for the thermal/fluid models of the Gas Subsystem of the Transporter Vehicle. You will be responsible for analyzing, running simulations, and building tools to aid in sizing, verification, cycle counts, etc. You will contribute to the definition and development of spacecraft fluids and thermal control systems while working along side hardware Responsible Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Project Managers.
The position will work directly on our Transporter Vehicle within the Lunar Permanence Business Unit. Bring you technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support Thermal/Fluids specification and requirements (at subsystem and component-levels)
- Develop & manage fluid/thermal interfaces, including Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and models (in collaboration with adjacent Integrated Product Teams (IPTs))
- Own the verification and validation of Thermal/Fluids requirements, in collaboration with the Fluids test engineers and Responsible Engineers.
- Lead trade studies across the Gas Subsystem and other Subsystems
- Interpreting and generating Piping and instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using AutoCAD.
- Building and maintaining simulation modes of the Gas Subsystem while working directly
- Work closely with component engineers, systems engineers, and other stakeholder to help understand the expected behavior of the Gas Subsystem and individual components.
