Assistant Clinical Manager (ACM)– Night Shift Support

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) plays a vital leadership role in supporting the night shift team, ensuring high-quality patient care and fostering a collaborative work environment. This position is designed to provide consistent leadership presence during evening and overnight hours, with flexible scheduling to best meet the needs of the unit.

Schedule: 40 hours evening/nights

Flexibly work evening/night hours, with suggested schedules including:

  • Four 10-hour shifts (5:00 PM – 3:00 AM),
  • Five 8- Hour shifts (6:00 PM – 2:00AM).
  • Two 8-hour shifts (6:00 PM – 2:00 AM) and 12-hour shifts (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM).
  • Days and times may be adjusted based on unit needs, meetings, or flexibility for individual needs. These are not set hours, the purpose of schedule will be to support night shift/off hours

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a visible and accessible leader during evening and night shift operations.
  • Support staff through mentorship, guidance, and real-time decision-making  and coaching
  • Auditing and rolling out initiatives
  • Assume patient care assignments or charge nurse responsibilities during critical staffing periods if needed
  • Serve as resource on the unit during off shift
  • Supervise direct reports, including participation in performance evaluations, coaching, and interviews.
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Manager and other leaders to promote staff engagement, quality improvement, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • BSN, Registered Nurse with leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.

$43.30 - $64.95

To support and ensure clinical patient care leadership.   To provide clinical leadership to plan, coordinate and manage personnel and resources in order to provide the highest quality patient care with trained, professional and competent staff in the most cost-effective manner.  To collaborate with physicians and other health care disciplines to assure optimal patient care.

Primary Purpose
Assist PCC leadership with day to day operation to ensure high quality and cost effective patient care
 

Major Responsibilities

Serves in the role of Charge Nurse. Assigns patient and non-patient care in a safe, effective manner

Maintains staffing requirements in accordance with established policies, patient volume

Collaborates with physicians, management and other healthcare professionals to assure the deliver of quality care and high patient satisfaction

Contributes to achieving system, site and unit goals by prioritizing duties and responsibilities

Assures accurate reporting of census, acuity and staffing at predetermined times

Assures that Point of Care Testing/Code Carts/Code Boxes are accounted for

Assures appropriate supplies are available to staff via Lawson

Monitors/Edits Report Express Reports in a timely manner

Ensures compliance with all regulatory agency standards, i.e., federal, state, city, Accrediting Organization, IDPH and a
