What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Lead technical development teams to define, baseline, and execute development programs by developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), Risk Registers, and Program financial plans.
  • Maximize program performance through active schedule, cost, and risk management.
  • Work with functional managers to identify resources and perform project resource planning.
  • Lead the project execution by utilizing in-depth knowledge of MS Project tools and add-ons to perform Schedule Risk Assessments (SRA), Earned Value Management (EVM) analyses, and Estimates To Complete (ETCs).
  • Team with Control Account Managers (CAMs) to provide up-to-date program performance to Program Managers for internal and customer reports, including Government Integrated Program Management Report (IPMR) formats 1-7.
  • Perform critical path analyses, track performance against baselines, perform what-if analyses, and develop mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Lead and train teams in the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) process.
  • Lead project team meetings and facilitate tracking/completion of action items.
  • Lead project Risk Management Board (RMB) meetings to identify, manage, and mitigate risks, opportunities, and issues.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze key program performance and planning data.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports on all assigned projects.
  • May lead several projects
  • Mentor other Project Managers and CAMs.
  • Lead proposal activity to ensure accurate estimates based on similar-to information from other programs.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications: 

  • Strong team collaboration, management, and analytical skills with demonstrated experience and ability to lead technical development teams toward a common goal.
  • Strong experience in Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) scheduling utilizing MS Project or equivalent with understanding of Oracle or similar MRP environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) techniques and reporting.
  • Experience performing program ETC’s.
  • Superior organization skills, accuracy, attention to detail and a high degree of initiative.
  • Strong oral communication including the ability to express ideas and information and facilitate an open exchange of ideas.
  • Demonstrated problem solving to include the ability to identify and analyze problems; use sound reasoning to arrive at conclusions; find alternative solutions to complex problems; distinguish between relevant and irrelevant information to make logical judgments.
  • Solid written communication skills with the ability to express facts and ideas in writing in a succinct and organized manner.
  • Requires a high degree of independent thought and decision making.
  • Knowledge of program financial concepts, including P&L, MR, ROS, etc.
  • Prior experience managing technical information.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in an engineering organization or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience
  • US Citizenship required

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: 

  • Experience managing electronics product development that includes hardware, firmware and software content.
  • Basic understanding of Optical or Communications systems and technologies.
  • Experience with the Agile development process.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools like Arena, Agile, or similar.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Active TS or TS/SCI security clearance.
