We’re searching for a Sr. Manager, Command Center Operations.
In this role, you will
- Be a key leader on our Operations team as we build and shift our organization to support both R&D and scaled commercial operation
- Monitor and direct all dispatching activities, including planning, route monitoring, customer communication and metrics
- Ensure staff members fully and consistently comply with safety rules, administrative procedures and policies and government regulations
- Initiate and direct investigations to resolve internal or customer complaints and verify their authenticity and accuracy
- Collaborate with staff members and fellow managers to create, modify and implement goals, procedures, policies and objectives when the opportunity presents itself
- Lead a team of operations professionals with clear goal and priority setting, constant process improvement, and successful change management skills
- Identify key areas of inefficiency, work cross-functionally to establish best practices, and create & implement Standard Operating Procedures
- Maintain and develop positive business relationships with a customer's key personnel involved in or directly relevant to a logistics activity.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to refine and implement procedures for operating a growing fleet of autonomous vehicles
- Effectively manage, develop, and grow a experientially disparate team
- Lead by example, handle emergency situations with composure and make frequent pragmatic, safety-based and efficiency-based judgment calls
- Establish and drive strategy supporting the evolution of the development of our autonomous technology and the commercial delivery of a logistics and ride-sharing service to customers - guiding the team to solve for the present with an eye to the future.
- Develop, track, and improve metrics for customer service, fleet utilization and safety
- Effectively translate company priorities to discrete, relatable, and actionable goals for the team and drive their implementation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in related field or equivalent strongly preferred
- At least ten years related experience or equivalent in the transportation industry
- Experience working in a centralized dispatch environment strongly preferred
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and empathize with a disparate population of employees working 24/7/365
- Strong ability to communicate (verbal and written) succinctly and effectively to various global audiences, from engineers to partners to C-level executives
- Master collaborator -- unflappable with impeccable attention to detail and organization, ability to influence, motivate, and generate goodwill with teammates while juggling multiple projects at once and never letting the ball drop
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills (lean six sigma experience preferred)

Pay Range
The base range for this position is $149,000 - $239,000. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions.
