About the role

- Student workers must reside within the State of Washington. Remote work outside of Washington will not be permitted.

Reports to: Brigitte Samson
Class Times:
- Wednesday – 2:00 - 4:50 p.m.
Duties and Responsibilities
9 hours/week position
- 3 Class Hours in-person
- 6 Lab Hours of hybrid in two block of 3 hours (TBD)

- Lab Hours are blocks of time selected to reach the most CG2001 students during the week, outside of class. This is a flexible weekly schedule advertised at the beginning of the semester and updated via Teams.

- During Lab Hours you are assumed to be available in person or for video calls on MS Teams to share screens and answer chat and email questions related to CG2001 notions, and to be aware of any updates to assignment requirements.

- Related to health concerns, even if on-campus work is possible, your availability on-site will always be at your discretion.

- Accountable for tracking and reporting the amount of time worked
- Assist instructor during and outside of class as needed with academic tasks.
- Answer students’ questions and support them in understanding their assignment requirements
- Review students' work and Maya scenes to diagnose issues and make clear recommendations on steps to take.
- Activities in person and via MS Teams:

- Monitor class and chat; answer students' questions promptly during Class and Lab Hours; share Maya screen during Lab Hours to show techniques.
- Escalate complex CG blocking issues to instructor’s attention promptly
Qualifications/Competencies
- Have proven proficiency with the course material
- Possess a positive attitude and a growth mindset toward learning CG notions
- Arrive on time and be prepared to attend with complete focus during work hours
- Have willingness and patience to be supportive and help novices acquire CG proficiency
- Be comfortable interacting with other students on an instructional level as a mentor
- Successfully completed CG-2001 with a grade at or above B
- Comfortable with multiple aspects of the 3D modeling workflow
- Familiarity with Maya, (Blender a plus)
- Able to give work reviews in a professional manner, on techniques and aesthetics
- Strong communicator
- Reliable, punctual, and invested in the success of their fellow students
- Be able to work independently
Expected dates of employment: May 13 - July 24, 2026
Expected number of hours per week: 9 hours between Class and Lab

Wage Range:
$17.13 - $18.25 per hour, depending on number of terms worked at DigiPen
