Department Overview
This project investigates the developmental specification and functional properties of "pioneer" neurons during cranial sensory circuit formation. The position builds on our recent work: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40593691/. We are interested in following questions related to the pioneer neurons’ biology: how pioneer neurons are specified and migrate to their destination, how they interact with surrounding tissues, and what pioneer-specific factors guide follower neurons.
Function/Duties of Position
Performing experiments, including CRISPR based screen in the zebrafish model, generating mutant and transgenic zebrafish lines, fluorescent immunolabeling, fluorescent in situ hybridization, confocal imaging, generation of new CRISPR-based knock in lines as well as additional genetics and imaging experiments in the zebrafish model as needed.
Writing manuscripts and grants.
