As an RN on the Pre/Post Surgery Team, you will collaborate with fellow RNs, providers and Anesthesia Techs to make meaningful differences in the lives of patients and their families. In this position, you will use your nursing knowledge to support patients before or following endoscopic surgical procedures, acting as both an educator and advocate. A caregiver in this position works 5 days per week with a varying schedule between 6:00AM – 6:00PM. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Perform telephone triage.  

• Notify physicians/LIPs of abnormal findings.  

• Establish a care plan in collaboration with the patient, family, and health care team. 

• Collaborate with care coordinators to ensure smooth and effective transitions of care. 

• Assist with specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.  

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physician/LIP and monitor patients for response.  

• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures. 

• Provide health education to patients and families. 

• Develop, evaluate, adapt and document education to learning needs. 

• Participate in quality initiatives, process improvements, and research activities to improve patient outcomes, patient experience and patient safety.
