Principal Program Manager - Technical

Red Hat Portfolio Lifecycle Management is looking for a Principal Program Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team responsible for coordinating release reporting across the Red Hat solutions portfolio. You'll work with geographically distributed representatives from the Sales, Training, Operations, Legal, Finance, and other teams. As a Principal Program Manager, you’ll need to be familiar with program management standards, able to apply your skills and experience to facilitate collaboration with your teams, and motivated and accountable for your own commitments and deliverables. You’ll also need to have outstanding communication skills and excellent attention to detail.

What you will do

• Coordinate reporting across multiple teams, dealing with all aspects of the release process of our offerings
• Understand and proactively inform teams of schedules for active and upcoming releases of our offerings
• Support and maintain multiproduct rollups for executive review
• Develop and nurture key relationships with stakeholders from multiple functional groups
• Foster collaboration, trust, and accountability for departmental and cross-functional teams
• Proactively direct potential issues and obstacles to appropriate functional teams
• Be both flexible and adaptable to changing demands based on the needs of the business

What you will bring

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• Technical knowledge of and experience with program management process and tools

• 12+ years of experience delivering technology-related services or offerings; open source experience is a plus

• Demonstrated success in leading complex software programs from planning through release

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with teams crossing multiple regions and time zones

• Outstanding risk and change-management skills and based on demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities 

• Dynamic and effective virtual meeting facilitation skills 

• Clear, concise and effective written and verbal communication skills 

• Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification a plus
