Responsibilities

The PJT Partners Technology team is responsible for creating and continuously improving a robust and secure technology foundation that supports the firm’s business activities.

As a Technical Project Manager on the Technology team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution and delivery of complex technical projects within the firm. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, security  and business aligned groups, to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope and within budget.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the planning and implementation of technical projects;
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables;
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans to monitor and track progress;
  • Translate complex technical requirements and into clearly defined project plans;
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule and ensuring alignment with business goals and requirements;
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to ensure clear communication for the seamless execution of projects;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors;
  • Work alongside technical resources to project manage the development, test, launch and support phases;
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques;
  • Report and escalate project delays and risks to management as needed;
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and ensure timely delivery;
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Qualifications

PJT Partners seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition, qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred;
  • 5-10 years of experience in project management, preferably in a technical environment;
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple project priorities;
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools;
  • Strong written, verbal and communication skills with the demonstrated ability to work with all levels within the organization;
  • Strong organizational, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills; accuracy and attention to details; process oriented;
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams;
  • Experience working with third party vendors;
  • Knowledge of SaaS based platforms and familiarity with cloud technologies is preferred;
  • Comfortable working in a largely Microsoft 365 environment and related tools;
  • Proficient in JIRA, Confluence and other project management tools as well as familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Expected annualized base salary of $115,000 to $165,000.

This range represents the low and high ends of the expected annualized base salary for this position. The specific base salary received by any employee will be informed by a number of factors, including but not limited to, role level and scope, location, candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills and experience.
