Sr. Manager, External Reporting

Krispy Kreme’s Senior Manager, External Reporting is responsible for leading the preparation and review of all external financial reporting for the company, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and other applicable standards. This role will partner closely with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and cross-functional teams to deliver accurate, timely, and transparent financial disclosures.

A TASTE OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

SEC Reporting & Financial Statement Preparation

• Prepare and review quarterly and annual filings (Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and other required filings).
• Ensure compliance with SEC regulations and disclosure requirements.
• Oversee preparation of consolidated financial statements and footnote disclosures.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of reported information.

Technical Accounting & Compliance

• Research and interpret new accounting standards and SEC guidance; assess impact and implement changes.

Compliance & Controls

• Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with SOX requirements.
• Lead internal controls related to public disclosures.

Audit Management

• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to develop efficient audit plans and resolve audit findings

Team Leadership & Management

• Supervise and develop a team of reporting professionals; provide coaching and mentorship.
• Partner with cross functional leaders regarding key monthly reporting.
• Ensure consistent messaging across the organization by partnering with functional leaders on key changes and issues.
• Identify and implement enhancements to reporting processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy.

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS:

• 7+ years of experience in external financial reporting.
• Professional and effective verbal and written communication.
• Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve problems.
• Direct experience with SEC reporting for a publicly traded company.
• Hands-on experience and working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance in a public company environment.
• Experience with large ERPs and financial reporting tools (Oracle/OneStream preferred).
• An experienced leader of leaders that cares about others.
• Proven project management skills – Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree. CPA with public accounting and publicly traded company experience.
