About you and this role
Dow Industrial Solutions Technology Center has an exciting opportunity for a Process Automation Manager. This position will support our Seadrift Operations Ethylene Oxide plant located in Seadrift, TX.
This role will join a global team supporting the world’s largest purified Ethylene Oxide production business. Our Ethylene Oxide and Derivatives businesses are growing and has a portfolio of improvements planned for the facility. The Process Automation Manager will play a key role in these improvements which involve the existing AspenTech DMC controller and Honeywell Basic Process Control System (BPCS).
While the Process Automation Manager will not have administrative people leadership responsibilities, they will work along with and direct Dow, vendor, and contract teams defining and implementing improvements.
Responsibilities
Maintain APC models and BPCS interface.
Maintain operator and technical staff training on APC control objectives and use.
Track and report APC performance monthly.
Maintain list of APC improvements in collaboration with the Business Technology Center to ensure optimal performance to meet business targets.
APC and BPCS controller tuning.
Develop and Maintain list of prioritized BPCS improvements.
Completes technical review of the control teamwork and provide coaching/corrective feedback.
Develops functional requirement specification (FRS) for the system and creates detailed design specifications (DDS).
Provides technical support, coaching and consulting for project teams, operations, maintenance, and other technology centers.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class ranking.
6-10 years of engineering, manufacturing, automation or related experience required.
